Kota student deaths investigated separately
The 16-year-old, from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, was found dead in his paying guest room on Sunday, October 25, police said. He had moved to Kota six months earlier to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination, or JEE.

Family alleges hostel negligence
Gautam Kumar, 19, from Bihar’s Darbhanga district, was found unconscious in his hostel bathroom and died during treatment on Sunday. Police said he had lived in Kota for nearly two years and had taken two attempts at the medical entrance exam, NEET.
His cousin alleged that hostel authorities had not noticed his absence during four daily meals. The family filed a complaint alleging negligence, and police registered a First Information Report.
Circle Inspector Devesh Bhardwaj said police had not determined the cause of death and would await the investigation and post-mortem report.
