China border patrols along the frontier with India were normal and complied with relevant agreements, China’s foreign ministry said on October 26, 2026, responding to Indian concerns about disturbances in the area.

China border patrols and India’s concerns

China’s foreign ministry said its forces carried out normal patrol and control activities in border areas and that Beijing has always strictly abided by relevant agreements.

The statement followed comments days earlier by Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. He said the situation along the Line of Actual Control is disturbed from time to time when Chinese forces diverge from established patrolling patterns.

Diplomatic and military contacts continue

Jaiswal said peace and tranquillity in border areas are essential to the overall development of relations between India and China.

Both countries continue to use existing diplomatic and military mechanisms to resolve outstanding issues and avoid misunderstanding and miscalculation along the Line of Actual Control.
