Tata Communications plans to invest close to $450 million in a Tata fiber network connecting artificial intelligence data-center corridors across India. The company announced the project on October 26, 2026.

Tata fiber network spans three planned phases

The company plans to build around 10,000 kilometers of new long-haul fiber cables. The network is intended to connect cloud services companies, global capability centers and organizations including banks to data-center clusters.

The expansion is planned in three phases, covering the Mumbai–Pune–Hyderabad–Chennai corridor and data-center ecosystems on the east coast and in western India.

Cities included in the expansion

The east coast and western India plans include Vizag, Bhubaneswar, Jamnagar and GIFT City. The project is a planned investment; the announcement did not indicate that the new cables had been completed.
