Friends and colleagues of Alden Richards have defended the actor after social media personality Xian Gaza accused him of refusing to leave a condominium and return six luxury watches allegedly belonging to a wealthy couple.
What was alleged about Alden Richards
Gaza claimed the couple had allowed Richards to use the condominium during the Covid-19 pandemic and that the actor later refused to vacate it. He also alleged that Richards had not returned six expensive watches.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the alleged owners have not been publicly identified in the reports reviewed. Richards had not directly responded to the accusations as of October 26, 2026.
Friends and colleagues respond
Talent manager Ogie Diaz disputed the condominium allegation, saying Richards owned the property. Longtime friend Julius Mariano said the actor had moved out of the condominium mentioned in the claims. Neither account independently establishes the property’s ownership.
Television host Kim Atienza and comedians Ai-Ai delas Alas and Betong Sumaya shared accounts of Richards helping friends and colleagues. Entertainment reporter Nelson Canlas also defended Richards’ character while acknowledging that he did not know everything about the actor’s private affairs.
At the Hero For All 2026 event on October 25, Richards spoke about kindness and personal integrity but did not mention Gaza or the allegations. The event recognized 20 Filipinos for their contributions to their communities through Richards’ AR Foundation.
