Barcelona unrest prompted the Philippine Consulate General to advise Filipinos on October 25, 2026, to exercise heightened caution and avoid several areas of the city.

The consulate identified Plaça de Catalunya, Portal de l'Angel, the Gòtic area and Carrer de Pelai towards Plaça Universitat as places to avoid.
It said the advisory was based on information received from the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Catalan police. The consulate urged Filipinos to remain vigilant, stay away from affected areas and follow instructions from local authorities.
The consulate said it was continuing to monitor the situation and would issue further updates as necessary.
