The Philippine Embassy issued a France protest advisory urging Filipinos to avoid demonstrations and large gatherings ahead of a reported general strike and mass protests scheduled for November 5, 2026.

France protest advisory: What the embassy recommends

In its October 24 advisory, the embassy told Filipinos to prioritize their safety, remain calm and avoid areas experiencing clashes or reported violence and property damage. It also advised them to remain apolitical, saying participation in partisan activities or demonstrations could expose them to unnecessary risks.

The embassy said it does not take sides in France’s domestic political debates. It urged people not to approach crowds out of curiosity and to leave immediately if tensions escalate.

Transport and public-order updates

The embassy advised Filipinos to follow police directives and public-order restrictions, and to monitor official announcements about demonstrations, road closures and public transportation disruptions. It also urged caution on social media and asked people to verify information before sharing it.

The advisory followed weeks of protests in France, some of which turned violent, with stores looted and establishments burned. More than 50,000 Filipinos live in France, most of them in Paris.
