Savi Davison scored 28 points to lead the PLDT High Speed Hitters past the Capital 1 Solar Spikers in four sets, ending PLDT’s two-match losing start to the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino.
Savi Davison rebounds after two losses
Davison’s performance included 23 attack points, four blocks and an ace. She also recorded 10 excellent digs and 18 excellent receptions as PLDT improved to a 1-2 record.
The Filipino-Canadian scorer had managed 10 points in a loss to Nxled and a career-low five in a defeat to Akari. In the preceding 2026 PVL Invitational Conference, she led all scorers with 185 points, including a conference-high 37 against Creamline.
Adjusting to stronger competition
Davison said PLDT had needed to recognize that other teams had improved and adjust its pace. She noted that Alas Pilipinas players had returned to certain teams after missing the Invitational Conference.
She also acknowledged the pressure of carrying much of PLDT’s offense, while crediting Kath Arado’s role in defense. Kianna Dy, Alleiah Malaluan and Dell Palomata also helped PLDT in the win.
