Visa earnings exceeded analyst estimates in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2026, as payment volume rose 9% from a year earlier to $4.08 trillion.

Visa earnings and payment activity

Adjusted earnings were $3.48 per share, above the average analyst estimate of $3.44. Payment volume increased from $3.73 trillion in the same quarter a year earlier and was slightly above the average estimate.

Visa’s October 27 results announcement said the company would make its earnings release available on its investor relations website. The payment network’s results offer a view of spending activity because of the debit and credit transactions it processes.

Fraud prevention and China expansion

In August, Visa agreed to acquire fraud-prevention company BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash. At the time, Visa said it expected the transaction to close by the end of its fiscal second quarter of 2027, subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Earlier in October, the People’s Bank of China approved Visa’s preparations to establish a domestic bank card-clearing business in the country. The approval allows preparations to begin; it does not mean the business is already operating.
