Borregaard earnings reached a quarterly EBITDA record of NOK 557 million in the third quarter of 2026, up from NOK 440 million a year earlier, as results improved across all three business areas.

Borregaard earnings and revenue

Operating revenue rose to NOK 1,894 million from NOK 1,799 million in the third quarter of 2025, the company said in its third-quarter results announcement on October 28. Profit before tax increased to NOK 394 million from NOK 247 million, while earnings per share rose to NOK 2.96 from NOK 1.96.

Borregaard defines its EBITDA measure as operating profit before depreciation, amortisation and other income and expenses.

What drove the improvement

In BioSolutions, selective price increases and lower costs were the main reasons for the improved result. BioMaterials achieved a record result, principally because of higher deliveries and strong production.

Fine Chemicals improved as deliveries of both fine chemical intermediates and bioethanol increased. Borregaard said savings from its ongoing cost improvement programme, energy system optimisation and net currency effects also contributed positively to group results.
