Cloud backup service Rakuraku Cloud Backup 2 is scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026, after Otsuka Corporation and Acronis Japan jointly developed the offering. Otsuka will provide the service, which stores selected files and folders in the cloud to help businesses recover data after disruptions.
Key Takeaways
- Customers can choose plans retaining 90 or 180 backup versions, with capacity from 500 GB to 10 TB.
- Pricing starts at 16,000 yen per server per month before tax; setup fees and a specified maintenance contract are separate.
How the Cloud backup service works
The service is based on Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud. The joint service announcement says selected files and folders are backed up automatically to an Acronis Cyber Cloud data center, where the backup data is stored in a form that prevents modification or deletion.
Customers can select a stored recovery point and restore individual files or folders after an equipment failure, disaster or cyberattack. Otsuka handles initial setup, as well as restores and changes to backup settings after the service begins.
Pricing and sales target
The starting monthly price excludes tax. Customers must also pay initial setup fees and obtain a specified maintenance contract separately.
Otsuka and Acronis Japan announced the service on October 28, 2026. Otsuka has set a sales target of 300 contracts in the first 12 months after launch; that figure is a target, not completed sales.
