Deutsche Börse Group has introduced round-the-clock DAX 40 trading through its affiliated 360X venue, adding overnight and weekend access while keeping Xetra’s established trading and auction processes intact.
How DAX 40 trading works after hours
Under the extended market model announced on October 27, 2026, 360X handles off-hours transactions through a request-for-quote system on its regulated multilateral trading facility. Participants request a price from a counterparty or liquidity provider rather than trading through a continuously displayed order book.
The service covers traditional DAX 40 shares settled in euros, rather than a separate derivative or tokenized representation. Existing Deutsche Börse clients can activate access through the group’s Member Section.
Xetra sessions and settlement remain separate
Xetra’s core institutional session remains open Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 17:30 Central European Time. The extended retail service on T7 operates from 08:00 to 22:00 CET on weekdays.
Deutsche Börse said its standard auctions will continue. Off-hours closing prices on 360X will not determine Xetra’s next opening price or affect its opening auction. Trades on 360X settle bilaterally into participants’ existing Clearstream accounts, using their established post-trade connections.
Availability and execution details
The announcement did not provide a complete schedule of maintenance breaks or say whether every constituent would be continuously available throughout the 24-hour cycle. It also did not disclose the number of participating liquidity providers, quote response times or expected spreads.
Access outside regular hours therefore does not guarantee that a quote will be available at a particular price or size. The announcement also did not detail the full eligibility criteria or fee schedule.
