Link Broker Europe has launched in Croatia under managing director Josip Malenica, focusing on facultative reinsurance placements across Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The new brokerage is supported by Turkish firm Link Reasürans ve Sigorta Brokerliği.

Link Broker Europe targets regional placements

The business arranges facultative reinsurance for cedents, or insurers seeking to transfer risk, across the region. Facultative reinsurance is arranged for individual risks rather than an insurer’s entire portfolio.

The company also handles selected direct insurance business. Its Turkish partner, known as Link Turkey, provides the new firm with the backing of an existing brokerage group.

Authorization and leadership

Croatia’s financial services regulator granted the pre-company authorization to conduct insurance and reinsurance distribution at its August 28, 2026 board meeting. The authorization decision identifies its registered office as Trogir.

Malenica has 13 years of regional reinsurance experience. Before launching the firm, he was head of reinsurance at GrECo Specialty and had previously held the same role at Marsh Croatia. He began his career as a reinsurance underwriter in Croatia.
