Avla leadership changes have put Felippe Astrachan in charge of the group’s reinsurance business, AvlaRe, while André Bertolino takes over as CEO of its Brazilian operation. The appointments were reported on October 30, 2026.
Avla leadership changes in Brazil
Bertolino succeeds Astrachan, who led Avla’s Brazilian operation from its start in 2021. Bertolino has served as commercial director since 2022 and worked alongside Astrachan to build the business.
The Chilean insurer’s expansion timeline places its entry into Brazil and Mexico in 2020–2021. Before joining Avla, Bertolino developed financial risk solutions at XP Inc. and held technical leadership roles at Wiz Soluções and Junto Seguros.
Bertolino said the Brazilian operation had matured in recent years and that he would continue working to improve client service and support its growth.
Two executives move to AvlaRe
Astrachan will become CEO of AvlaRe and continue contributing to other areas of the group. He said Bertolino was the right person to lead the next phase of the Brazilian operation.
Paulo Oliveira will also move to AvlaRe as chief operating officer and chief strategy officer. He has been Avla Brazil’s director of operations and strategy since 2024.
