Wow! Momo Foods plans to begin restaurant operations in Sri Lanka by the end of 2026 and is targeting 20 outlets within two years, the company said on October 27.
Wow! Momo’s Sri Lanka franchise plan
The Indian food and quick-service restaurant company has partnered with Sri Lankan conglomerate Softlogic Corporation as its master franchisee for the launch.
The 20-outlet figure is a target, not a count of locations already open. The company said the Sri Lanka launch would be followed by an expansion into the United Arab Emirates.
UAE plans and packaged-food exports
Wow! Momo is evaluating Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah as initial UAE markets. It is discussing potential partnerships and considering both joint venture and master franchise arrangements.
The company is targeting a US restaurant entry after the next two years, using its experience in Sri Lanka and the UAE to develop its market, menu, format and partnership model.
Separately, its Wow! FMCG packaged-food business already exports to 14 countries, including Sri Lanka and the UAE, with access to more than 1,000 retail and e-commerce touchpoints. The company has identified the US, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand and Canada as markets for that business over the next 12 months.
