ACME Solar shares follow earnings growth
Revenue rose 67.5% year over year to ₹1,007 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, from ₹601 crore. The company attributed the increase primarily to battery energy storage and renewable energy capacity additions.
Profit after tax increased 133.5%, with a margin of 26.7%. The EBITDA margin was 86.7%, marginally lower than a year earlier; the company said operating expenses included the cost of power purchased for battery storage operations.
The ₹432 share price was an intraday high, not a closing price.
Storage target and power generation
ACME Solar said its commissioned battery energy storage capacity reached 5.2 GWh. Its new target of more than 12 GWh for FY27 is a commissioning goal, not completed capacity.
Power generation increased 19.6% to 1,840 million units from 1,539 million units in the same quarter a year earlier. The company attributed the increase to capacity additions and higher irradiation.
NTPC power purchase agreement
Wholly owned subsidiary ACME Marigold Urja signed the agreement with NTPC for a 400 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project under NTPC’s FDRE Tranche 01. The tariff is ₹4.37 per unit, and the agreement runs for 25 years from the scheduled commencement of supply.
Separately, NTPC’s 2024 FDRE-01 tender notice sought 1,200 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable power with assured peak supply. The notice provides background on the tender; it does not establish the reported agreement or its terms.
