Asian Paints earnings rose in the September 2026 quarter, but profit from international operations fell despite strong sales growth, including in the Middle East. The company said raw material inflation and supply constraints weighed on its results.

Asian Paints earnings and international sales

International revenue rose 29.5% from a year earlier to ₹1,095.6 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2027. Sales grew 23.7% in constant-currency terms, while the business’s profit before tax fell 31% to ₹52.7 crore.

Managing Director and CEO Amit Syngle said the Middle East region registered robust growth despite servicing challenges caused by the geopolitical situation. The company board profile describes his previous leadership of the Indian decorative business.

Inflation weighs on margins

At the consolidated level, net sales rose 16.9% year on year to ₹9,953.9 crore, while net profit increased 7.5% to ₹1,062.79 crore. The profit-after-tax margin declined by 94 basis points to 10.7%.

Syngle said the full impact of raw material inflation and material availability constraints driven by geopolitical disruptions was felt in the quarter. Crude derivatives are key inputs for paint manufacturers.

Asian Paints said persistent inflation had prompted another round of staggered price increases in its decorative paints business, alongside increased cost-efficiency efforts.
