The Bosideng exhibition marking the Chinese down-jacket specialist’s 50th anniversary is open in Shanghai through November 1, 2026, bringing together archival garments, technical displays and designer collaborations.

Key Takeaways

  • The six-part exhibition opened to the public on October 19 at Gate M West Bund Dream Center.
  • Displays include a mountaineering suit and collections developed with international designers.
  • Bosideng has also entered a partnership aimed at connecting emerging Chinese designers with international creative networks.

Inside the Bosideng exhibition

Titled “Warmth Code: Half a Century of History,” the exhibition traces Bosideng’s development from its early manufacturing work to contemporary fashion design. Its six themed spaces include 15 display cases of garments, sketches, fabric samples and archive images.

Among the historical pieces is a one-piece down suit that reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma with the Chinese mountaineering team in 1998. Another display takes apart the layers of the Qomolangma 1.0 Jacket to show its insulation and protective fabrics.

The exhibition also features Bosideng’s collaborations with designers including Jean Paul Gaultier, Kim Jones, Kenzo Takada and Errolson Hugh.

Paris show and designer partnership

The Shanghai exhibition follows Bosideng’s October 5 anniversary show, “The Bloom,” during Paris Fashion Week. Creative Director Pietro Ferragina drew on influences including Art Deco, the Shanghai-style qipao and Song brocade.

To mark the anniversary, Bosideng has entered a strategic partnership with the Vogue China Fashion Fund and France’s Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode, or ANDAM. The partnership aims to connect emerging Chinese designers with French and international creative networks.
