Momentum Group earnings rose in the third quarter of 2026, with EBITA increasing 15% to SEK 109 million as acquisitions and improved margins supported results. Revenue rose 8% to SEK 805 million.
Key Takeaways
- Acquisitions contributed SEK 52 million to quarterly revenue; sales for comparable units rose only slightly overall.
- Industry’s comparable sales grew 5%, while Infrastructure’s fell 4%.
- The company plans to replace its two business areas with three from January 1, 2027.
Momentum Group earnings and cash flow
In its third-quarter interim report, released on October 23, Momentum Group said EBITA rose from SEK 95 million a year earlier. The EBITA margin increased to 13.5% from 12.7%, while revenue climbed from SEK 746 million.
The company attributed the earnings improvement to a slight increase in underlying sales, higher gross margins and contributions from acquired businesses. Cash flow from operating activities rose to SEK 98 million from SEK 38 million in the third quarter of 2025.
For January through September 2026, revenue increased 5% to SEK 2,427 million and EBITA rose 11% to SEK 292 million. Sales for comparable units declined 2% over the nine-month period.
Industry growth offsets infrastructure weakness
Industry revenue rose 11% to SEK 439 million, including 5% growth for comparable units. Its EBITA increased 19% to SEK 63 million. The company cited stronger demand in Sweden and positive trends in mining and automotive, although pulp and paper activity remained subdued.
Infrastructure revenue rose 4% to SEK 373 million, but sales for comparable units fell 4%. Lower volumes in Norway and weak demand in Denmark weighed on the business. Infrastructure EBITA nevertheless increased 10% to SEK 55 million, supported by acquisitions and cost adjustments.
Acquisitions and planned reorganization
After the quarter ended, Momentum acquired Polymore, a specialist in polymer dosing equipment for water and wastewater treatment. That brought the number of acquisitions completed in 2026 to seven, with combined annual revenue of approximately SEK 260 million.
From January 1, 2027, the group plans to organize its operations into Power Transmission, Industrial Solutions and Process Technology. CEO Ulf Lilius said the structure is intended to improve business development, acquisitions and operational improvements while leaving individual companies responsible for their customers, markets and earnings.
Momentum maintained its long-term goal of doubling EBITA to SEK 680 million by the end of 2030. That is a company target, not a reported result.
