Binance hack recovery effort
Binance said industry partners had frozen $3 billion of the stolen funds and that it was working with law enforcement to recover them. Frozen assets have not necessarily been recovered.
The FBI had not responded to a request for details about the reported cooperation by the time of publication.

The exchange said it had reserved more than $6.34 billion in company funds to cover losses, including $5 billion held in the same tokens that were stolen.

In a separate case, the US Department of Justice said its 2022 Bitfinex seizure recovered more than 94,000 bitcoin linked to a 2016 exchange hack. The cryptocurrency was worth more than $3.6 billion at the time of seizure.
