Manila school threats reported in recent days have prompted police to coordinate with school officials and security personnel, a Manila Police District spokesperson said on October 27, 2026.
How police are responding to Manila school threats
PMAJ Philipp Ines said police station and community precinct commanders use communication groups to stay in contact with schools and help organize responses to incidents.
The district’s explosive ordnance disposal personnel respond to bomb threat reports, while its anti-cybercrime unit handles threats made online. Investigators are seeking to identify those responsible, but Ines said he had no progress update at the time of the media forum in Ermita.
Appeal for information
Ines asked school officials to maintain contact with police and urged students and other members of the public to share any information about those behind the threats. He said threats and suspicious activity could be reported through district hotlines or the Unified 911 emergency number.
He warned that bomb threats can carry imprisonment or fines. Citing Manila’s Anti-Child Endangerment Ordinance, Ines also said parents or guardians may be held accountable in certain incidents involving minors, depending on the child’s age.
