Immutep R&D funding received a boost after the biotechnology company collected €1.36 million, approximately A$2.16 million, from the French government for eligible research conducted in 2025.

Immutep R&D funding from France

Immutep said on October 28, 2026, that it had received the cash under France’s Crédit d’Impôt Recherche program. Its French subsidiary, Immutep S.A.S., qualifies through research conducted at its laboratory in France.

The company’s payment announcement says the program refunds 30% of eligible R&D expenditure. The payment follows an A$0.86 million Australian R&D tax incentive rebate that Immutep announced on September 30, 2026.

How the company plans to use the funding

Immutep plans to apply the non-dilutive funding to current research and development for its product candidates eftilagimod alfa, known as efti, and IMP761. The clinical-stage company develops immunotherapies targeting cancer and autoimmune diseases.

Immutep said its German subsidiary is also eligible for Germany’s R&D tax incentive; it did not announce a German payment. The company expects its cash to last into the first half of calendar 2028, an estimate subject to risks and uncertainties.
