The revised adjusted earnings range raises the lower end of the forecast and lowers the upper end, leaving its midpoint unchanged. In its third-quarter results announcement, Sherwin-Williams also forecast full-year diluted earnings of $10.92 to $11.22 per share.

The company expects fourth-quarter sales to rise by a mid-single-digit percentage from the same period in 2025. It maintained its forecast for full-year sales growth in the mid- to high-single digits.

Third-quarter results and shares

For the quarter ended September 30, sales rose 7.9% from a year earlier to $6.86 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings increased to $3.63 per share from $3.59, while net income fell 1.5% to $821 million.

CEO Heidi Petz said higher raw material and supply chain costs and the sales mix affected gross margin. Sherwin-Williams shares traded at $324.00 in pre-market trading on October 27, down $11.16, or 3.33%.
