Canton tokenized shares could begin trading as soon as November 2, 2026, after Nasdaq-listed Canton Strategic Holdings announced plans to put its common stock on the Canton Network.
How Canton tokenized shares would trade
Canton Strategic Holdings is working with tokenized-securities venue TSV LLC and SEC-registered transfer agent Fairmint on the plan. The tokenized shares would carry the same shareholder rights as the company’s Nasdaq-listed stock, which trades under the ticker CNTN.
The planned service would use an automated market maker for around-the-clock trading, with transactions settling immediately on the Canton Network. Fairmint would maintain ownership records and oversee compliance with share-transfer requirements.
SEC exemption and company background
The companies said the SEC’s September innovation exemption provides a regulatory path for trading tokenized US stocks on domestic platforms. The SEC’s temporary, conditional exemption for tokenized stock venues includes a requirement to stop trading a tokenized stock when trading in the underlying stock is halted on its primary listing exchange.
Formerly biotechnology company Tharimmune, Canton Strategic Holdings shifted its focus to digital assets in November 2025 after raising $545 million and changed its name in February 2026. It holds Canton Coin, helps operate the network and invests in projects built on it. The Canton Network was developed by Digital Asset, not Canton Strategic Holdings.
