Coca-Cola India IPO plans remain under review, with the beverage company reiterating in October 2026 that it is exploring a public listing of its Indian bottling operations. Coca-Cola had previously identified 2027 as the potential listing year.
Key Takeaways
- Coca-Cola is considering a listing of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings, the parent of its largest Indian bottler.
- The potential listing remains subject to market conditions and regulatory and other approvals.
Coca-Cola India IPO plans
President and Chief Financial Officer John Murphy said on October 27 that Coca-Cola was exploring a potential IPO and would provide updates as appropriate. He did not give a specific listing date.
In its June listing announcement, Coca-Cola said it was preparing for a potential listing of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings, or HCCH, on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. The company also said it was considering selling part of its stake in connection with the listing.
People familiar with the matter expected HCCH to file a draft prospectus later in the week of October 26. The contemplated IPO was expected to raise $1 billion, primarily through sales by existing shareholders, at a $10 billion valuation. Those figures were not included in Coca-Cola’s June announcement.
Ownership and bottling operations
Jubilant Bhartia Group acquired a 40% stake in HCCH in July 2025. Coca-Cola has said it intends to remain invested in the bottler after a listing.
HCCH’s operating subsidiary, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, operates 14 bottling plants across 10 Indian states. As of March 31, 2026, its network had more than 2,000 distributors and reached over 1.7 million customers. Coca-Cola retained Rothschild & Co to advise on the potential listing.
India’s contribution to quarterly volume
Coca-Cola said India was among the markets leading its 5% global unit-case volume growth in the third quarter of 2026. Its bottling investments division recorded 8% volume growth, primarily driven by India and South Africa.
