Binance said on October 30, 2026, that it had set aside more than $6.34 billion in company funds to cover losses from the Binance hack, including $5 billion held in the same tokens that were stolen.

Binance hack replacement assets

A Binance spokesperson said the $5 billion in matching assets was in the exchange’s custody. The company did not say when it acquired those assets or disclose their wallet addresses, citing security reasons.

Binance said the holdings would appear in its next proof-of-reserves report, which shows assets held to back customer balances. It has not confirmed which tokens it still needs to purchase or when those purchases will be completed.

Frozen assets and regulatory monitoring

Binance confirmed the hack affected approximately $6.3 billion in assets. It said about $3 billion in affected assets had been frozen with help from blockchain partners, separate from the company funds set aside to cover losses. The exchange has not said how much stolen crypto has been recovered.

Abu Dhabi Global Market’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority said it was engaging with Binance and monitoring the incident. Binance said it provides weekly reports on company funds to the regulator and that the requirement predates the hack.

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs said funds were drained from Binance wallets across 10 blockchains on October 29 and attributed the attack to North Korean hacking group TraderTraitor.
