TransMedics has selected Gogo Galileo connectivity for 22 aircraft that transport donor organs across the United States, Gogo announced on October 27, 2026. Installation is underway, with the full US fleet expected to be equipped by mid-2027.

Key Takeaways

  • The system is being installed on TransMedics’ Embraer Phenom 300E aircraft.
  • TransMedics plans to extend the capability to its European fleet in 2028.

How Gogo Galileo will support organ transport

TransMedics uses its Organ Care System to monitor donor organs continuously during flights. The connectivity service is intended to support the flow of information during those time-critical missions.

Andre Costa, TransMedics’ vice president of global logistics, said the company selected Gogo for its connectivity as well as cybersecurity, system redundancy and active monitoring.

Satellite service and installation timeline

Gogo Galileo uses Eutelsat OneWeb’s low Earth orbit network. Its HDX antenna can support simultaneous applications including cloud-based monitoring, video communications and operational data exchange.

The companies expect the system to be operating across the US fleet by mid-2027. TransMedics also plans to extend the capability to its European fleet in 2028.
