Bihar bank settlements resolving two industrial disputes are expected to provide ₹77.69 crore in financial benefits to more than 10,900 Bihar Gramin Bank employees, India’s Ministry of Labour and Employment said on October 27, 2026.
What the Bihar bank settlements cover
The first settlement is expected to benefit around 8,400 employees, with financial benefits of ₹67.17 crore. It addresses demands including performance-linked incentives, officiating allowances, wage and travel allowance increases, promotions and compassionate appointments.
The second settlement is expected to benefit around 2,500 employees, with approximately ₹10.52 crore in financial benefits. That figure includes recurring annual benefits of approximately ₹9.02 crore.
The ministry said the second agreement addresses implementation of the 12th bipartite settlement, higher house rent allowance and transport allowance for employees with disabilities, overtime payments, transparency in promotions and the formation of a negotiating council.
The ministry said the agreements were reached through dialogue involving the bank’s management and employee organizations.
