Northern Railway adds capacity on busy routes
The additional services are intended to ease pressure on regular trains as passengers travel home for the festivals. Routes connecting Delhi and other northern cities with Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal face particularly heavy demand.
Services include Delhi–Patna Vande Bharat, Shakurbasti–Darbhanga, Mata Vaishno Devi–Varanasi, Chandigarh–Patna, New Delhi–Howrah and Amritsar–Barauni. Seat availability will vary by train, date and destination.
Station arrangements for the festive rush
Northern Railway has opened extra ticket counters, deployed additional staff and strengthened security to help manage crowds and passenger movement.
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, the railway zone’s chief public relations officer, said arrangements were being made to help passengers travel home for the festivals without unnecessary difficulties.
