Cyclone Arnab prompted the Andaman and Nicobar administration to ask tourism operators to exercise caution and advise fisherfolk not to go to sea until Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The very severe cyclonic storm was approaching the Andhra Pradesh coast.
Cyclone Arnab advisory for island activities
The caution applies to operators of both onshore and offshore tourism and recreational activities. Authorities also advised people to avoid recreation at sea and take precautions during thunderstorms.
Rain was expected across all three districts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through October 29.
Expected crossing and emergency advice
The storm was likely to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast and the coast of Yanam in Puducherry on October 28. That crossing remained a forecast, not a completed event, at the time of the advisory.
The administration urged residents, especially those in low-lying areas, to stay alert and follow official advice. It said it was monitoring conditions and asked people to contact the State Control Room or disaster management officials in an emergency.
