Russia gas cooperation with US partners is under consideration, President Vladimir Putin said at a gas exporters’ summit in Moscow on October 27, 2026. He also called for an increase in gas supply.
Russia gas cooperation remains exploratory
Speaking at the eighth Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit, Putin said Russia was open to cooperation in the sector. “We are exploring the possibility of collaborating with partners from the US,” he said.
Putin also told the summit: “We need to increase supply of gas.” His remarks described possible cooperation rather than a completed agreement.
Moscow declaration planned
Ahead of the summit, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Putin would address problems facing the gas industry, including geopolitical issues, as well as priorities for resolving them.
Ushakov said leaders would adopt a Moscow Declaration highlighting member countries’ role as reliable gas suppliers and their wish to cooperate on diversifying trade routes.
