Early repayment timing
One extra payment at the start of the chosen month, before interest. Regular payments stay fixed. Fee is paid separately; cap 0 means no fee. Enter your own terms; no bank offer.

Compare two saved conditions
These are user assumptions, not offers, live rates or recommendations. Inspect the different inputs. The existing EMI model calculates the base loan and stored prepayment timings A/B for each condition. Comparison does not change current inputs or saved data.
Local condition backup
Files contain saved user assumptions, not bank offers or live rates. Keep them private. Nothing is uploaded. Import adds reviewed conditions without replacing existing ones; load a condition to calculate.
Rate changes
New rate begins in the selected month; payment is recalculated from the remaining balance and term. Monthly extra payments continue; fees are excluded. Illustrative, not a bank offer.

Calculation assumptions
The fixed-rate comparison assumes a fixed nominal annual rate ÷ 12, month-end payments and two-decimal rounding. The final payment clears the balance. Extra payments shorten the term without recalculating the regular payment. Fees are paid today, not borrowed. Rates are your assumptions, not bank offers or variable-rate forecasts. Taxes and insurance are excluded.
With equal payments (EMI) every payment is the same: M = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ ÷ ((1 + r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the annual rate ÷ 12 and n is the number of months. Each month the interest is the remaining balance × r and the rest of the payment repays principal. With equal principal, the principal part is P ÷ n every month, so the first payment is the highest and payments fall over time, which usually costs less interest in total.
r = Annual interest rate (%) / 1200; P = Remaining principal; n = Remaining months
A = r = 0 ? P / n : P × r / (1 − (1 + r)⁻ⁿ)
Sustained break-even month (interest + fees): (Current loan: ∑ Interest + Total fees) − (Refinancing: ∑ Interest + Total fees) ≥ 0
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ↗Repayment targets
Fixed annual rate ÷ 12; month-end payments rounded to 0.01. Fees excluded. The minimum payment repays by the target month; the final payment never exceeds the monthly budget.
