Position size & risk/reward

For linear units with a price in the selected currency. Contract multipliers, inverse contracts, options and forex pip values are not modeled.

Use the same currency for every price, fee and amount. Changing this label does not convert values.

Inputs use up to 8 decimal places. Quantity is always rounded down to the selected increment. Stop loss is rounded up and target profit down at 16 decimal places; displayed amounts use up to 8 places and may hide tiny values.

How position sizing and risk/reward work

A price target alone does not determine position size. Start with an account reference, a chosen loss budget and the distance between entry and the assumed stop execution. A wider stop produces a smaller quantity for the same budget. This calculator does not choose a risk percentage for you.

Trading fees apply to both entry and exit. The planner uses the stop price for a losing exit and the target price for a winning exit. Net reward/risk compares those two estimated outcomes. The break-even win rate assumes every trade has exactly one of these outcomes; it is not a forecast of trading success.

Rounding down to a quantity increment keeps the modeled stop loss within the planned budget. It does not guarantee an executable order or protect against gaps and slippage. Check venue rules and use compatible price, currency and unit definitions.
